Welcome to The Beekeepers Club Inc. - the place in Melbourne for all Hobby Beekeepers & Wannabees.
The Beekeepers Club Inc. was formed in 1998 and presently counts over 96 members. The majority of its members are beekeeping hobbyists and enthusiasts. The club provides support to its members through monthly meetings, beginner courses, field trips, as well as free access to the club's extensive library of books, magazines and audiovisual material.
At monthly meetings new and experienced, young and old beekeepers share their knowledge and experiences. Guest speaker present a talk or demonstration on a topic that is pertinent to the beekeeper's calendar. Annual field trips are organised to allow the hobby beekeepers to glimpse the workings of commercial producers or widen the knowledge about other topics of interest to the beekeeper.
If you want to learn more about this amazing and rewarding hobby then come along to our next monthly club meeting and talk to beekeepers. When you decide to join us we will give you the opportunity to learn the skills of beekeeping from men and women who once were beginners too.
We meet on the 3rd Thursday of every month at 7:30pm at our venue in the Manningham Council depot, corner Heidelberg-Warrandyte and Blackburn Road, Doncaster East, Victoria 3109, Australia. Melway Reference: 34-D3. For more information drop in to our next meeting or contact us.
The club has a relationship with Collingwood Children's Farm, where members and the public can attend on the second Sunday of each month to help maintain and learn from the hives located there. For more information please click on the button (Meet Beekeepers) on the left sidebar.
We want to use our web site to promote the knowledge about bees and the beekeeping hobby among the wider community by sharing information. Bees are vital for the survival of mankind on this earth - it should therefore be in all our interests to know a little bit about this fascinating creature. If we want to survive we better make sure that bees are surviving as well as part of the entire ecosystem.
Note: We are happy to place links onto our web site to other bee and beekeeping related web sites in Australia, in particular Victoria.
